Saw district 9 a few weeks ago - Plot was interesting, and leave you wanting closure, epic sequel is a must here, the aliens where semi stereotypical but cool in a weird way, you would think after 10 years on the planet they would speak english, but w/e. the main feature of this film and why it was rated X, besides the over whoring of the word FOK, in it's southern african heavy dialect, was the bloody gore that would splatter the camera on almost any action shot. Over It was a Go see film, but it could wait till it was a Five Buck Club Film, or in rentals
Got back from "9" the film co directed by Tim Burton, as one of his fans I wasn't impressed by antything, nothing was terribly wrong with the film, in face the animation was top notch, the music was right on, and the whole voodoo doll dynamics where,, although cartoony, a breathe of fresh air. what it lacked was a deeper plot, all the characters could of had more deep of character as well as interaction of each other, the bad guys reminicent of the Rickty Robots in CoH were creepy in Tim Burton fashion. This film could have easlily be strecthed to make 2 if not 3 movies without any loss of interest.
As such the whole film felt rushed, with the conclusion you have no Idea what's going on but it's okay the cartoon voodoo dolls are talking.
Overall it, I was left empty. a film that could have had much more depth left me feeling hollow, but I was not mad I spent 9:50 on it, like District Nine I say wait for the Five Buck Club or rentals for the film.
